“The Revival of Our Oral Traditions, Ensures the Continuance of Our Legacy”
A non-profit organization incorporated in November 2009 under the Companies Act, 1995 to facilitate the social arm of Reflections of Our Oral TraditionS (“ROOTS”), which was launched in September 2005.
The Oral Traditions ROOTS Foundation, registered in June 2014 with The National Registry of Artists and Cultural Workers, under the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and the Arts in the fields of Endeavour, Promotion and Event Management, has a mandate to develop spoken word poetry and other oral traditional forms as a
catalyst for social change in Trinidad and Tobago, across the Caribbean and internationally.
Points of Interest
•to revive the lost oral tradition of our ancestors;
•to sensitize the community of the need to continue this tradition;
•to provide a medium for the expressions of talented poets; and
•to provide a medium for educational and informative reading.
